A simple way to measure stick tension

My trusty Taranis X9D has finally suffered its first major issue in four years - a broken spring on the elevator gimbal. And yes, it failed in flight! Fortunately I was able to land the model safely.

Horus X10 preview - an upgrade for your X9D?

The Horus X10 is the second 'premium' radio to be released by FrSky. The new radio bridges the gap between the venerable Taranis X9D and the flagship Horus X12S. Getting inside the Horus

The Horus is a sweet piece of kit - when it's fully operational, that is. Unfortunately my unit arrived with a gimbal which was stubbornly double-centring. To FrSky's credit, it didn't take long to receive a replacement gimbal, and today I cracked open the transmitter to install it. Preparing your setups for OpenTx 2.2 RC10

The OpenTx developers have been making great progress with 2.2. The latest build is able to open .eepes created in OpenTx 2.1, and convert them to OpenTx 2.2 format. Even better, they can be re-targeted to the Horus - great news for those wishing to migrate their setups to the new transmitter.

E-Soar Plus v2, with integral timer, faster setup

It's just over a year now since I published my E-Soar Plus template for full house electric sailplanes. Since then it's been adopted by a number of pilots for both sport and F5J competition. However there's always room for improvement; a few pilots have asked for a flight timer. Also I wanted to reduce the time to calibrate the servos and adjust the mixers. Taranis X9E: FM7 bug and workaround
